Maggie Crossed Over The Bridge

Last night, a little after 10:00pm Maggie had her last seizure.

She went into it right after we went to bed and she was laying in between her daddy and myself.

It was different this time and we knew...so we held her and loved her while she crossed over Rainbow Bridge.

Our hearts are broken and we are sad but we rejoice with the fact that she is no longer suffering and that she lived the most amazing life that filled us with so much love and happiness.

Thank you all for the continued love, support and encouraging words during this every difficult couple of weeks.  The love, prayers and many paw crosses for Maggie and for us have truly been felt and the words from the sweet comments have been such a comfort.       -Higgins Mom

  6. I'm so heartbroken to be hearing this. At least Maggie chose to leave on her own terms and not leave the decision to you. She is in a better place and no longer will have to fight the "S" monster. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Run free again, Sweetie.

  16. Oh no, Higgins! I missed this post yesterday and I feel terrible about it. I am SO sorry to hear about Maggie. I know you, your mom and your whole family must be feeling such a BIG loss for that special girl right now. All I can say is I am glad that it happened while everyone was home so Maggie could feel the love around her at the end.

  23. Dearest Higgie and your Mommy and Daddy,

Our Mommy's comment got eaten up by blogger when she wrote it before and today while we were looking at past pics of Maggie she noticed it wasn't there.

She lost her first dog Samantha at the age Maggie was in 2005 when she adopted Mona and became a volunteer for dachshund rescue. Mommy says she's sure they are the best of friends by now and are both watching us all from the bridge, pain free and happy along with Angel Weenie.

You are all our thoughts and prayers.

God bless..... Mommy's girls and Mommy too
